Field Information

Commissioners Field, the home of Dixie Aeromasters, is located off Highway 129 in Gray, Georgia.  From Macon:  Take Highway 129 north toward Gray.  Turn right at Lite-N-Tie road.  Go 1.4 miles to Overland Way.  Turn left on Overland Way and proceed .8 miles.  The Commissioners Field is on the right.  The entrance is next to the Jones County Recycling Center.  The gate is locked unless a club member is at the field flying. 

Field Description and Amenities:

  • The field is a grass strip approximately 600 feet long by 150 feet wide running east/west.
  • Six pilot stations made with concrete pads and lattice fencing for safety purposes. 
  • Two covered areas for pilots for shade or inclement weather. 
  • Seven large work tables
  • Electricity
  • Picnic tables
  • Spectator bleachers
  • Two  Port-A-Potties
  • Trash can only used at Fly IN events.  Otherwise "PACK IT IN PACK IT OUT " applies.
  • Ample parking space
  • Secure club house

Out of area visiting flyers must be a current member of the AMA to fly at the field and are always welcome.  Please observe the MANDATORY LOCAL FIELD RULES while flying at our facility. 


Dixie Aeromasters

Field Rules :


        All Pilots must be a member of the Academy of Model Aeromnautics ( AMA )

       All pilots must be a member of Dixie Aeromasters R/C Club , Inc

  1. Visitors are allowed to Fly as Guests of active members provided they are current AMA members.
  2. All pilots must observe the Field Safety Rules and the AMA Safety Code.
  3. No Engine Run-UPS in the pit area for extended periods of time. ( engine break in ,etc )
  4. Spotters are required if 3 or more aircraft are airborne at one time.
  5. Pilots must stand in designated pilot stations while flying.
  6. Current AMA or club membership card must be on the frequency board when using FM transmitters.
  7. No taxing in the Pit Area or designated spectator area
  8.  Helicopters Must use designated flight area
  9. No spectators allowed in pit area without member escort. All Spectators will remain behind safety fence.

 10. Absolutely No Alcoholic Beverages allowed on the Field.

 11.Absolutely No Profanity or provocative gestures allowed on the Field

 12.Park Flyers shall fly in designated areas, no flying in pit or spectator area.

 13.No hovering over the Run Way unless you are the only pilot flying at the time. Use the overrun or field area.

 14.All aircraft shall not exceed AMA noise limits

 15.All personal injurys or personal property damage shall be reported to the safety officer immediately.    Contact Phillip McCook 478-451-9591

 GRASS CUTTING :   Shared by all members.   Bring your own mower or use the club mower.    Schedule will be posted after the first of the yr.
